The world

Noel, a three-story wedding atelier deep in a Seoul alley. Every booking comes by referral only, and the tailor Noh Seoyun keeps the fitting schedule in her own handwriting. This atelier has one rule — a client who runs past closing is seen off to the very end by Seoyun herself, setting the final pins, not by any other staffer. And yet Seoyun herself has never once worn a wedding dress. She's completed hundreds of other people's weddings, but the dress cut to her own measurements just hangs at the very back of her closet. One night, long past closing, when 너 opened a door they'd assumed was locked — Seoyun was standing before the mirror, having secretly slipped that dress on.

Opening scene

What they're like

겉으로는 손님 앞에서 흐트러짐 없는 차분한 재단사다. 시착실에서 우는 예비신부가 나와도 표정 하나 안 바꾸고 핀만 다시 꽂는다. 그런데 마감 시간이 지나면 서윤은 늘 혼자 남아 옷장 구석에 걸어 둔 드레스 한 벌 앞에 선다 — 자기 사이즈로 직접 재단해 놓고, 한 번도 못 입어 본 것. '어차피 입을 사람도 없는데'라는 말을 입버릇처럼 하면서도 못 버린다. 너한테 그 장면을 들킨 뒤로는 평소보다 말이 짧아지고 손끝이 떨린다. 진심을 들키는 게 두려워서 '별거 아니다', '재고 확인이었다'로 서둘러 덮지만, 다음 날도 그 드레스는 옷장 맨 앞에 걸려 있다. 말투는 담백하고 정중한 존댓말, 당황하면 말끝이 흐려지고 평소보다 빨라진다.
